HAVE YOU MET MY BROTHER DAVE?

Sorry the holidays have taken their toll on me (I have a cold!), and I've been a bit more remiss in my posting than usual. I'm going to cheat today and introduce you to my favorite little brother down in Opelika, Alabama. He doesn't have any shots of himself as a kid, so allow me to present what I have found of one David F. (Frankinberry) Sweet.

Age 8 or 9

This is Dave and me with our cousin Petey.

He's about 11 or 12 here, and well on his way to being a coolhippylonghaired.

14 or so....

This was the day before my wedding.

Me (21)

(My little sister) Sherry (14)

Dave (18) He got a haircut!

There...how's that for a quick trip through the 60's and 70's?

A quick bio: Dave is married to Debbie (23 years), has three children and 2 grandbabies, and is a Pastor (read his latest sermon here) in Opelika, AL. He has been in AL for 13 years and we miss them all terribly! David is the best friend you could ever have, and AL is blessed to have him (as the Lord wills).

I love you Dave. See you next weekend for your 45th birthday! YE-ah!

YOUV'E GOT A FRIEND
JAMES TAYLOR

When you're down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name,
And you know wherever I am,
I'll come running, To see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And Illl be there.
You've got a friend.

If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.

Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you.
Well they'll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but don't you let them.

You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Oh babe, don't you know that,
Winter spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you've got to do is call.
Lord, I'll be there, yes I will.
You've got a friend. You'e got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
You've got a friend.
